Matcha latte oat milk

Iced Matcha Latte

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp high-quality NAKO matcha powder
  • 60-90 ml hot water (not boiling, about 175°F or 80°C)
  • 1 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, or whole milk work great)
  • 1-2 tsp sweetener (like honey, maple syrup, sugar, vanilla syrup, or strawberry syrup)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Matcha: Sift the matcha powder into a bowl to remove any lumps. Add the hot water and whisk using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a frother in a "W" motion until it’s frothy.
  2. Add your favorite Milk: Any kind you like! I love to use oat milk or almond milk in this recipe. For a richer, creamier latte with foam, experiment with regular whole milk or even coconut milk.
  3. Sweeten: Honey, maple syrup, vanilla syrup, strawberry syrup and all work great. Feel free to skip the sweetener if you prefer.
  4. Combine: Pour the frothy matcha into a mug. Gently add the favorite milk, holding back the foam with a spoon, then top with the foam for a layered effect.
  5. Serve: Garnish with a sprinkle of matcha powder on top and enjoy immediately!
